Art and Movement Vermont (AMV) was born from Alexandre Rodrigues’ passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and movement arts. This unique journey in Geneva has led to an integrative approach that blends martial tradition, innovative teaching methods, and personal development.
At AMV, we prioritize attentiveness, cohesion, and collaboration, creating a respectful and supportive environment where every member can grow at their own pace. Our academy offers a diverse range of activities, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Yoga, Qi Gong, a dedicated strength training space, and a room for natural therapies.
Art and Movement Vermont is designed to foster both individual and collective growth, guided by core values such as mindfulness, respect, continuous progress, and personal experience through practice.
In his classes, Alexandre Rodrigues applies an innovative teaching approach focused on both individual and collective development. Each student is encouraged to explore the many facets of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at their own pace while receiving personalized guidance to support their progress. Attentive and present, he acknowledges the uniqueness of each individual, helping them overcome challenges and grow in their practice.
From an early age, Alexandre Rodrigues has been driven by a passion for martial arts. At 17, he discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—a discipline that would not only shape his athletic career but also deepen his understanding of human movement and resilience. With significant competition experience, Alexandre now shares his knowledge with simplicity and enthusiasm.
His background in mixed martial arts (MMA) has further refined his understanding of movement, strategy, and instinct. He emphasizes a teaching style based on self-awareness and mutual respect, ensuring that intensity and progress align with each student’s abilities.
“I deeply believe that martial arts go beyond sport—they are a path to personal transformation, an endless source of learning and self-exploration. AMV is the result of this vision: a space where everyone can find balance and unlock their full potential.”
